03) Cable Concrete Installation

Cable Concrete is an easily installed erosion control solution.

Here are the steps in a typical Cable Concrete installation:
*The slide show displays a picture for each of these steps.

1.) Grade and shape the area, removing any rock capable of puncturing the geotextile fabric. Cable Concrete is very flexible and will conform to the grade cut.
2.) Cable Concrete arrives via tractor trailer with a spreader bar to offload and place the mats. The weight per mat = product designation (CC: 20,35,45,70)* 64 sq. ft. per mat. The mats can be placed directly from the truck or stockpiled for later use. Care must be taken to avoid sudden jolts to the suspended mats.
3.) The mats are placed in their finale position with the center of each mat touching the surface first, always lay the project out to the center of each mat.
4.) Continued placement follows proceeding from the downstream end to the upstream end.
5.) Cables from adjoining mats are pulled together and a clamp loosely installed at the location show on the drawings. The clamp is pushed up the cables to provide tension on both cables and tightened. Minimal movement of the mats should occur after the clamps are installed and tightened.
6.) After the mats are clamped and anchored, the gaps between the blocks can be filled with the required material with a rubber tire loader (depending on block size, loader size, good judgment is called for). The material should be worked into the crevices using a shovel and broom as a finale step. The area can then be seeded and mulched as required or left to vegetate naturally.
